Hi, I'm Meghan.
Stylist. Image Consultant. Salon Owner. Professional transformer of hair — and a late bloomer when it came to my own style.
I've spent over 23 years helping people feel confident in their reflection.
And plot twist?
I didn't fully feel that way about myself until the last few years.
SoulStyle was born from that shift.
The Experience
For more than two decades, I've worked at the intersection of beauty, style, and identity — witnessing how what we wear and how we present can change how we move through the world.
I'm the owner of Lotus Hair Body & Soul in downtown Medford, Oregon, where I've worked with thousands of clients across every age, body type, and life season.
Over the years, I've also had the joy of working with iconic creatives like The B-52s and Martin Short — experiences that shaped my love for bold expression, thoughtful detail, and individuality without rules.
I specialize in:
Curls and thick hair
Extensions and dimensional color
Long-term transformations
Creating spaces where people feel safe and seen
As my work evolved, I earned my certification in Fashion Styling & Image Consulting and deepened my training in color analysis — because I realized something important:
Hair is powerful.
But it's only one piece of the story.
Style is the full conversation.
The Honest Part
For years, I was excellent at helping everyone else feel confident…
While still navigating my own relationship with visibility, weight, style, and self-trust. My body changed. My life shifted.
My confidence rebuilt — not overnight, but intentionally.
I kept waiting for the "final version" of myself to arrive.
(Spoiler: she doesn't. You just become more you.)
Somewhere in the last few years, something clicked.
I stopped dressing to hide.
I stopped dressing to shrink.
I stopped saving outfits for "when."
I started dressing as I am.
And everything changed.
The Part That Changed Me
I didn't grow up with access to beauty. I grew up poor. I was teased relentlessly through school for my hair, weight, and clothing. Hair and makeup weren't options — survival was.
I loved fashion from a distance. But loving something and believing you deserve it are very different things. In my adult years, my weight climbed to 356 pounds.
My self-image was at its lowest.
I dressed to hide. To minimize.
To squeeze myself into shapewear that felt more like punishment than support.
Even working in the beauty industry, I didn't feel like I "looked the part."
There were subtle comments at first. Then not so subtle. About my body. My appearance. What I should change to be more acceptable.
At one point, I realized something strange:
Every fear I'd carried about what people might say about me if I showed up fully as myself?
They said it.
About my body. My health. My worth.
And I was still standing.
I was still here. I was fine.
Once the worst had been said… I was free.
Free to stop shrinking.
Free to stop apologizing.
Free to explore my closet without asking permission.
Free to wear the fun pieces I'd always loved.
Free to stop waiting until I was smaller to feel beautiful.
In the last year and a half, I've lost 65 pounds.
But more importantly?
I've gained self-respect.
Self-care.
And the ability to look in the mirror and see beauty — not punishment.
That's the version of me that created SoulStyle.
Why SoulStyle Exists
SoulStyle exists because I know what it feels like to be:
Successful — but disconnected from your personal expression
Capable — but unsure how to show up visually
In a body that's evolving
Entering a new chapter without a style that matches
This isn't about trends.
This isn't about "flattering."
This isn't about fixing.
It's about alignment.
When your hair, wardrobe, and presence feel cohesive, you move differently.
More steady.
More visible.
More you.
Style With Intention
I don't believe great style requires constant buying.
Some of the best pieces I own? Vintage. Thrifted. Reworked. Unexpected.
I love the hunt. I love the history. I love giving something a second life and making it feel modern and powerful again.
In our work together, we often:
Shop your closet first
Identify what's already working
Add strategic pieces instead of replacing everything
Incorporate vintage or thrifted finds
Focus on quality over quantity
Not only does this save money — it reduces fashion waste and creates a wardrobe that feels more personal and less mass-produced.
I'd rather build a wardrobe that lasts five years than five weeks.
Sustainability isn't a buzzword here. It's thoughtful consumption.
My Approach
My work is inclusive, affirming, and grounded in real bodies and real lives.
I have a deep love for plus-size fashion, gender-expansive expression, and clients who have never felt fully seen by traditional beauty standards.
You won't hear:
"Dress for your body type."
"Hide this."
"Minimize here."
Instead, we explore:
What stage of life you're in
How your body feels right now
What your real daily schedule demands
Colors that energize you
Silhouettes that feel natural
How hair and wardrobe work together
Style should feel like home in your body.
Not a performance.
Not a costume.
Not a compromise.
Style Is How Soul Gets Dressed.
Sometimes it takes us a while to understand what that really means.
But when you do?
You don't go back.
If you're ready to show up as you are — not a future version — I'd love to work with you.
